Senior College/Career Planning Unit
The Counselors have just finished a College/Career Planning unit with our Seniors.
-
First, we met with the students through their Language Arts class and did a powerpoint and handed out packets of information to each students.
-
Then we called all the students in individually to meet with their counselor through their Gov't/Free Enterprise/Economics class, to cover Graduation requirements, AIMS testing, Career Choice / Major in college, Scholarships, Financial Aide and Post-secondary education plans.

Most colleges and universities will accept either ACT or SAT scores for college entrance.
Scores are used for class placement (English, Math)
Take SAT I
SAT II (subject test ) are not required for AZ - but may need for out of state colleges/majors

Tests should be taken by the end of the Junior Year !
Tests can be retaken - colleges will take the best scores.
Must register approx. one month before test date.

*Seniors ...Have you taken your SATor ACT yet??? If not, then Seniors should sign up as soon as possible. Juniors, it is a good idea to take the SAT during 11th grade so that you have plenty of time to re-take if you need to.

**For Students interested in online or alternative classes, please make sure to talk with your counselor and do an Online Contract before you sign up for anything. There are specific requirements that online / alternative schools must meet in order for the DVUSD to accept their credits.
